FAQ

What should I expect in our initial consultation?

We offer a complimentary 15-minute initial phone consultation to determine if we are a good therapeutic match. During this call, we will talk about what brings you to therapy, your history, and current challenges. Following this, we will schedule a first therapy appointment, or if we cannot meet your needs, we will provide an appropriate referral.

What should I expect in our first session?

Our first session will focus on getting to know you. We will gather information about you and your history and collaboratively identify your therapeutic goals. In order to focus on this, we ask that you review and complete all requested forms prior to your first session.

How many sessions will I need?

Many patients begin to make improvement within 6-10 sessions. However, the total number of sessions varies and may change depending on your goals. We find therapy to be complete when patients are coping well and they have met their therapeutic goals.

How long is each session?

Each individual session is a therapeutic hour - 50 minutes. Family and couples sessions may be longer, up to 80 minutes.

Is online therapy an option?

We offer virtual and in-person therapy. In-person sessions are available to fully vaccinated patients. Masking may be required during in-person sessions. The modality of your sessions will be determined based on your needs, presenting concerns, and other preferences.

How much is therapy? Do you accept insurance?

Our hourly fee is comparable to other area psychologists. We do not currently accept any private insurance and are considered “out-of-network providers.” If your insurance covers out-of-network behavioral health services, your session fees may be partially covered by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. We can provide a receipt, or “super bill,” that you submit to your insurer for reimbursement.
